Sparks Launch & Official Promotion Start Date
First, I’m announcing
Sparks — a special role for those who want to help Oruwee grow. Inside the Fireside hub, you can visit the Sparks Join section and receive the Spark role.
How can you help? It’s up to you — simply spending time on Oruwee is already enough. We value casual chatting, feedback and ideas. Inviting your friends is great too.
We also appreciate it if you decide to open your own hub and we can help promote it.
What do Sparks get? You’ll gain access to closed sections where you can communicate with other Sparks. You’ll also have the opportunity to test new features earlier than others. Learn more here — https://oruwee.com/fireside/sparks
Second Update — The Oruwee Promotion Period Starts on September 7, 2026
I originally planned to start spreading the word about Oruwee much earlier, but later testing revealed many bugs, and several parts of Oruwee were too user-hostile.
My current plan is to release new features more slowly and focus on stability and improving the quality of existing functionality. I also want to move to production servers before bringing in a larger…

Optimization is the first improvement. Oruwee uses a WebAssembly-based framework — it allows a solo developer to build the platform quite fast, but at the cost of website load size and speed.
Now this is fixed! The results are pretty good: the first load now transfers 3.5 MB including average content (down from 4.3 MB), and on the slowest devices it takes 47 seconds to load instead of 1.9 minutes. Average load and rendering speed also improved by about 10% across all devices. So Oruwee’s patience test has become a bit more humane
How was this done? I removed as many external libraries as possible and replaced them with self-made, lightweight solutions. WebAssembly code now also loads in parallel (for geeks: via service workers). It may not sound like much, but building lightweight alternatives turned out to be quite an intensive job.
Fireside is evolving into a more informal counterpart to the main Oruwee hub.
While it remains a space for personal thoughts, dev diaries, and casual conversation, it's also becoming a more official and focused entry point for new users.
